Each year, Vermont Law Review invites eligible students to join the journal. Students are selected through either the write-on or grade-on process. The write-on process is essentially an anonymous writing competition that asks the student to complete Bluebook citation exercises, edit a manuscript, and write a case comment.
The write-on packet will be available in early May and will be due in late May. Vermont Law Review will choose the best submissions and extend invitations to those students in late June. Based on the number of students invited during the write-on round, Vermont Law Review will begin inviting students in order of class rank. This is known as the grade-on process, and will continue until all spaces are filled.
Representatives from Vermont Law Review and the Vermont Journal of Environmental Law will be visiting each Legal Writing II class throughout late February and March to explain the process in more detail and answer any questions you may have. In addition, the two journals will be holding a joint information session in the second half of the Spring semester for students.
